Ladder Golf - The Ultimate Yard Game
January 20, 2005 - When I got the assignment to review Ladder Golf, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about the game. But, like a good product sleuth, my motto, "no case too small".
So, I brought the product to a Nick-Neff-Cough (a PUT Camping Club) party and within minutes, the game was easily set up. The concept is simple enough, the game consists of a rack with rungs (the ladder made with wood and PVC) and eash player tosses bolo style golf balls at the crosspieces to score points. The higher they hang on the succeeding rungs, the higher the score with the goal of scoring up to exactly 21 points. Get it? Okay, now you're ready to play.
Sure enough, within a few practice tosses and games, players began to hone their skills and customize tossing techniques. One of the guys who couldn't keep away from the game that night was Ralph Hilton. "I really enjoyed it because it was competitive and entertaining," said Ralph. "For me, even though it's and easy game," Mike Nikoley added, "there's still a lot more strategy and skill involved."
And like all good games, it is addicting. It is the same genre as horseshoes or bocce ball, but in this game, the lively golf balls at the ends of short lengths of rope is the tool for scoring. They feel good, sturdy and fun to throw. This is game that can be played by the young and not so young for hours on end.
What makes this an ideal game is how easily it sets up and everything dissassembles and stores into a small bag no larger than a standard camping foling chair. Ladder Golf can be played on any surface and does not require a lot of playing space or experience. However, beware that those bolo style golf balls could be a tad dangerous with smaller children who might whirlbird it around and hurt themselves, or worse yet, hit someone else. Close supervision with children is advised.

I played ladder golf for the first time in rocky point! To this day, whenever we have a party or gathering at our house, there is always someone playing ladder golf!!!! It's the greatest game ever! It comes with us camping, to mexico, and entertains guests at our house for socials! It's the best!

Just played Ladder Golf today and LOVED it!!! Our hostess played it last week at her sister's and ordered hers - she got it immediately (great shipping!) and her friend ordered his and got it the day after....now WE have to have one!!!
